The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering companies for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency reported it is alarmed with regards to the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The company place designed for intervention encounters a sassa high inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional sources to help the servicing of all buyers and improve use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
